LOCAL ORGANIZATION MOBILIZES TO GET ATTENDEES TO THE 20TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE MILLION MAN MARCH
Kansas City, Missouri, July 29, 2015– The Greater Kansas City Chapter Local Organizing Committee (K.C.L.O.C) has established a committee of cross community, local, civic, national, political, and faith-based organizations to plan for and attend the 20th Anniversary Commemoration of the Million Man March “Justice or Else” on October 10, 2015, in Washington DC.
“The 20th Anniversary of the Million Man March- Justice or Else is a national movement for justice. All are invited to this historic event. If you have experienced injustices under this society you should be there.” says Teresah Muhammad Coordinator for the Kansas City Local Organizing Committee ( KCLOC)
The K.C.L.O.C is designed to plan and implement community activities and participate in events leading up to and beyond the March. The goal is to provide all the information and opportunities necessary to ensure Kansas City is present and represented at this upcoming historical event.
Some points that are will be addressed during the march are: •Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s final speeches which he touched on redistributing the pain of our oppressors by a full economic withdrawal. •Demanding justice not only from our oppressor but from one another as well. •Justice is the weapon Almighty God will use on this Day of Judgement
The KCLOC will be hosting multiple rallies, town hall meetings and fundraising leading up to the 20th Anniversary of the Million Man March- Justice or Else. About KCLOC The K.C.L.O.C mission is to provide leadership and support for low income/minority individuals in the Greater Kansas City area. In addition, to address the issues and concerns related to violence, education, health awareness, and community collaboration. 45.3 million people in the USA are living in poverty, 60% of people in prison are Black & Latino, 32.4% of Native American youth under 18 years of age live in poverty. More than 1 million people will mobilize on 10/10/15 in Washington, DC to create change. K.C.L.O.C is a local organization consisting of a broad range of community members to aid in the change that will take place.
