Protestors March to City Hall in Response to Recent Police Killings of Black Males!
HOUSTON- After the deadly officer-involved shootings that has occurred within America, a group of citizens and protesters from various backgrounds took to the streets of downtown Houston to unite with clergy, police, and politicians in an effort to find a solution that will end the violence against black males.
The Louisiana, Minnesota, and Dallas shooting that killed 5 police officers was the sparkplug that stirred the marchers in Houston.
Although some of the protesters were noticeably aggravated because of recent deadly force used by police officers against a black males, others appeared to lean toward empathizing with the police as well as those who have died from an encounter with the police.
The March to City Hall was spearheaded by Pastor James Dixon – Community Of Faith Church and supported by Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, Mayor Of Houston – Sylvester Turner, and a diverse host of local and regional leaders representing NAACP, Black Lives Matter, Nation Of Islam (NOI), Paul Wall (Hip-Hop Artist) Anti Defemation League (ADL) and many more.
